Present public infrastructure on the reserve.

  1. Roads
    • Urban areas mostly paved
    • Rural areas – range, forestry


  2. Potable Water system
    • Treatment plant - 8 Ml/day capacity
    • Distribution system approx. 20 km pipes
    • Two reservoirs


  3. Irrigation system
    • Two Irrigation pumphouses for agricultural use
    • Approx. 15 km main lines


  4. Wastewater
    • Offices and Sun Rivers development serviced
    • Treatment by City of Kamloops for a fee
    • Two lift stations
    • Approx 0.5 km pipe
    • Everything else (including industrial park) is on septic systems


Infrastructure Initiatives:

  1. Wastewater System
    • Community-wide collection system 20 km pipes
    • Treatment plant and pumping stations
    • High quality treatment for discharge to river
    • Cost up to $20M (currently identified)
    • Removal of 600-700 individual septic systems – environmental and health benefits
    • Ability to accept new developments (removal of major constraint)


  2. Additional Water Reservoir
    • To address low pressures, fire fighting capabilities in Northern area
    • 1M litre reservoir & pipe network connections
    • Estimated cost $5M
